YABBYING

Whether it's the nearby Warrego, the Paroo further out, the numerous nearby dams and billabongs or the Darling-Baaka River itself, the Back O' Bourke is the place to try your hand at catching a 'yabby' or two.

These freshwater crayfish can grow up to 30cm in length, or "30cm across the eyes", if you listen to some locals, with the big ones typically distinguished by their deep blue colouring.

All you need is a bit of string to catch a few, and a few is all it takes to have a fun day out and dinner at the end of the day.
