LOUTH RACES

Information

Capture the magic of the Outback at one of the friendliest and most memorable race days in Country NSW - the Louth Races, hosted by the Louth Turf Club.

Louth is located on the banks of the Darling River, 132km northwest of Cobar and 100km southwest of Bourke.

The Club stages a seven-race program, with prize money of $60,000 plus trophies and sashes. Sky Channel will operate for off-course and interstate punters, and all the usual amenities, such as betting fluctuation, bar, barbeque and afternoon tea, will be available. No alcohol will be brought onto the course; however, BYO is still permitted on the camping ground. Camping spots with firewood, toilets and a few showers are provided at the race course.

HUGE Fashions on the Field prizes from Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Gentleman.

LIVE Bands will entertain the crowds at Shindy's Inn on Friday night and again following the races on Saturday at the track.

Lead up events in the village during the week include scenic flights, farm tours, morning teas, the Gundabooka Golf Challenge on Wednesday, Damper and Scone Bake Off on Thursday and the School Fete on Friday. For more info head to our Lead Up Events section. For the most up to date info, be sure to follow us on socials. Facebook in particular will have heaps of detailed updates in the lead up.
