Grawin Opal Miners Sports and Recreation Club
Information
Also known as the Club in the Scrub, they offer a unique experience where you can call in and have a chat with the local Opal miners and characters that call these Opal Fields Home. They are a family friendly club which offers cool drinks and hot meals.
The Club itself is constructed with pine poles and everywhere you look 'quirky' memorabilia abounds. They are the gateway to the local fields, so call in and collect your mudmap and have a chat with one of their friendly staff to get the latest gossip.
They celebrate all the usual holiday events and then some more ... like the Yabby Races,Ugly Man competition or Grawin Show Girl - or should I say Show Boy (started when they were a little short on girls). If you're lucky, one of their miners may show you their days opal findings ... you just never know what you might see or experience at the Club in the Scrub.
